?Columbia gardening is going pumpkin picking!?
Saturday the 28th, we will meet at the Columbia gates on 116th and Broadway at 9:30 AM. We wait for stragglers until 9:40 AM and then board the 1 train to South Ferry. Once we get to South Ferry, we will all get off, and walk to the Battery maritime building terminal. The ferry runs every thirty minutes, and it’s easiest to buy tickets there. Soon, we will board the Governors island ferry, and zoom to the island.
From there everyone will head to the pumpkin patch. Close by, there will be a nice market with tons of food for us to enjoy. A donation for pumpkin picking is suggested but not required. Everyone can leave from the island at their own time—the ferry comes every thirty minutes all day until 7:00 PM.
Governor’s island also has many other beautiful attractions. For instance, there is a cute urban farm on the island that is open from 12 to 4. Additionally, there is a pretty lavender field too.
